Meet the people who make the music happen. 

Magdalena Gabriah

Founder of Ascot Music School

Senior Piano Teacher

Instrument/specialism: Piano, Composition, Psychology of Performance.


Music History: Magdalena completed a Music School in Krakow, Poland, in the class of piano before graduating from Brunel University with a BA degree in Music.


Favourite genres of music: Classical, but also pop and rock. Most recently nursery rhymes on loop.


First music memory: "I remember being 6 or seven and dancing and singing to Lambada with my sister. We would make up words not knowing what the real lyrics were. It was my first lesson in music: you don’t need to understand the language or the lyrics of the song; music transcends all the barriers, unifying us all."


Why are you excited about teaching at AMS: "I have a passion for growing people, for empowering them, for helping them be their best. Ascot Music School gives me a unique opportunity to share my love of music with others, have fun whilst building people up, growing their skills, confidence and helping them realise their potential."

Julian Gabriah

Founder of Ascot Music School

Senior Guitar Teacher

Instrument/specialism: Guitar/Song Writing/Production


Music History: Julian was a member of Slamm; a Top 50 act in 90s and had a recording deal with PWL. Julian is director of Heavy Traffic Music, a record label based in Ascot. He is a songwriter for various artists on Itunes/Spotify etc. Currently producing and releasing new material.


Favourite genres of music: Pop, House, Folk, Dance


First music memory: Playing guitar age 10, Julian was the first in his family who successfully pursued a career in music.


Why are you excited about teaching at AMS: I enjoy helping students with setting goals and achieving them. Ascot Music School gives me an opportunity to share my journey with those who are considering a career in music.

Ida D.H.

Piano Teacher

Music History: Ida has been playing the piano since the age of 9 and has studied both the ABRSM and Trinity piano syllabus and has achieved a Grade 8 piano with the Trinity Board. She has sung in choirs and has experience in playing a traditional Indonesian instrument called the Angklung in a group as a child.


First Musical Memory:
“Listening to the live orchestra when watching the ballet Giselle as a young child and thinking how beautiful it sounded. “


Why are you excited about teaching at AMS: “I love the piano and I am so excited about helping students learn to play it.”



Nicole Wright

Administrative Assistant

Music History: Nicole has achieved her Grade 8 in Violin with Trinity Guildhall had Grade 5 in Singing with ABRSM. She has played in multiple orchestras and sung in choirs, both of which

have been on tours in Europe. She has also taken part in a concert with other schools, singing at the Royal Albert Hall.


Favourite genres of music: Classical, Synthpop, Indie, Glitchpop.


First musical memory: “I remember copying the drummer of a small band when they played a gig for my Grandad's birthday and then going to try out different instruments at an Open Day. This led to me trying the violin and loving it.”


Why are you excited about working at AMS: “I am proud and excited to be a part of a  company working within a community, helping to promote the joy of music".
