How to Apply

Who is Ascot Music School for?

  • Ascot Music School supports musically predisposed children aged 2-18 years old who are keen and willing to follow their interest in music.

  • One of the questions we get asked is if children have to have a natural talent for music to do well at Ascot Music School. In our experience students don't need a clearly identified talent to start their music education; curiosity and interest is enough as long as it is then follow up ( over the years) with hard work, dedication and commitment to continue improving their skills, knowledge and understanding over the course of their music education.

  • At Ascot Music School we believe that all children are naturally musically gifted, it is just about them finding their place and their role within the wonderful world of music and that is what we are here to do.

  • Our students work hard on furthering their skills and abilities, fun is part of what we do, but hard work is never too far from how our young musicians approach their learning goals.

When is a good time for my child to start taking music education?

  • Research shows that the earlier children start their music education, the better.

  • Children who start participating in regular, well prepared and well delivered music lessons before they turn 7 years old can benefit from cognitive benefits such as better language acquisition, executive functions development and social skills.

These are the Points of Entry for prospective students:

  • Nursery (for those aged 2 and 3 years old)
  • Pre Prep (for 4-6 year olds)- Reception and Year 1
