Music School for children aged 4-7 years old


"Music Pre Prep" is a 3 year course that allows children an opportunity to acquire key music skills in a fun and interactive way and take their first steps on the instrument of their choice in a fun, group setting.

The Music Pre Prep combines our teachers' extensive knowledge and know-how with the the aims of the Key Stage 1 (KS1) of the National Curriculum for Music with Kodaly's Principles for a well rounded introduction into music lessons.

Ukulele/Keyboards/Percussion Instruments/Singing/Music Theory (Introduction)


Fees:

£165.00 per term (12 weeks)

The Course Objectives


The course's 3 year structure helps students dive into the world of music by building up their skills in a fun and social environment.


Reception Year:


  • Use their voices expressively and creatively by singing songs and speaking chants and rhymes
  • Play tuned and untuned instruments musically
  • Listen with concentration and understanding to a range of high quality live and recorded music
  • Experiment with, create, select and combine sounds using the inter related dimensions of music.


Year 1:


  • Students choose their first instrument- piano or guitar.
  • They also take part in Musical Games classes which introduce more technical vocabulary and concepts whilst being fun and enjoyable. The Music Games cover modules such as Choir, Music Theory for beginners and Early Ensemble Skills.


Year 2:


  • Students continue building up their skills and mastering their first instrument of choice.
  • They also carry on acquiring knowledge and skill in more advanced concepts of music fundamentals as part of Musical Games. The Music Games cover modules such as Choir, Music Theory for beginners and Early Ensemble Skills.
